'Those who are rejected...': PM Modi slams INDIA bloc ahead of winter session

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the media ahead of the Parliament session on Monday, criticized the Opposition for repeated disruptions in the functioning of the House. He claimed that those repeatedly rejected by the people are attempting to control the Parliament through disruptive tactics.

“Some people who have been rejected by the people are constantly trying to control the Parliament through hooliganism by a handful of individuals. The people of the country count their actions and, when the time comes, they also punish them,” the Prime Minister said.

He expressed concern for new parliamentarians, stating that they often bring fresh energy and ideas to discussions, only to have their rights and opportunities overshadowed by disruptive behavior. “These new MPs belong to all parties and deserve to voice their opinions. But their voices are stifled,” PM Modi noted.

Highlighting the Opposition’s lack of responsibility, Modi added, “Those who have been continuously rejected by the people 80-90 times do not allow discussions to take place in the Parliament. They neither respect democracy nor understand the aspirations of the people.”

The Prime Minister emphasized the need to utilize Parliament sessions effectively, citing India’s rising global stature. “The voters of India are deeply dedicated to democracy. As representatives, it is our responsibility to reflect their sentiments and aspirations. The only way to achieve this is through healthy discussions in the House,” he remarked.

Concluding his address, PM Modi appealed to all MPs to approach the session with enthusiasm and responsibility. “The world is looking at India with great hope. Our conduct and use of the Parliament’s time should reflect this growing global respect for India,” he added, urging the Opposition to focus on constructive debates instead of disruptions.
